Terms of Service

These terms describe the use of Mom’s Journals and this public information website. The journal-processing application is a private family project, not a public storage or transcription service.

Who may use the application

Only people authorized by the project administrator may contribute material or use private project workflows. This website does not create an account, grant archive access or provide a public upload service.

Contributing journal material

Upload only material you are authorized to contribute, using your assigned project folder. Consider personal information about other people before contributing it. Contributions are processed as described in the Privacy Policy, including transmission of authorized transcription inputs to Google’s Gemini API.

Contributing material does not make it public or transfer ownership of it. Do not publish or redistribute private journal material without the necessary permission.

Preservation and safe operation

Normal uploads may continue while the processing computer is unavailable. Processing resumes when the computer, network and required authorizations are available; immediate processing or uninterrupted availability is not guaranteed.

Before moving existing project files, replacing sources, changing ownership or changing sharing, authorized contributors and administrators must coordinate with the administrator to pause and drain intake. Do not attempt to bypass access controls or use another person’s authorization.

Transcriptions and corrections

AI transcriptions are drafts and may contain omissions or incorrect readings. Use the original image and preserved verification evidence when assessing a passage. Human review is optional and selective; an unreviewed draft is not represented as a human-verified record.

Originals, earlier drafts and corrections are preserved as linked versions. Requests for correction or removal must be coordinated with the administrator; a change does not automatically erase prior copies or backups.

Other services

Google Drive, Google’s Gemini API and Cloudflare operate under their respective terms and policies. This project does not grant rights to those services beyond the authorizations separately provided through them.

These terms may be updated to reflect changes to the private project. This page does not promise a fixed retention period, processing deadline or level of service.
